As Andrea and I continued to tell the story of Spectra Energy’s AIM pipeline project last year, a resistance group grew from the ground up. #ResistAIM is the name of the grass roots group that created a Pledge of Resistance in an attempt to stop the pipeline expansion.
We “embedded” with this collaboration of folks and filmed many of their activities. The ResistAIM group is committed to non-violence and works very hard to educate the community about direct action and do outreach. Believe it or not, most of Westchester County is still quite unaware that this pipeline project is happening.
One local resident, Nancy Vann, sat down with us to tell us her story. Spectra Energy was using eminent domain to take their pipeline through her property in Reynolds Hills.
A few weeks later, as the tree clearing equipment made its way on her property, Nancy attempted a last stand. Andrea was fortunate to be there with her camera to capture the drama that unfolded.
